Global Tax Reclamation Solution
GTRS was initially released in 1992 and has been continually enhanced and upgraded since then. Using web-based technologies GTRS is recognised as the industry-leading solution and is licensed by several major Global Custodians and Private Banks around the globe.
GTRS is a modular system that can be tailored to meet clients' specific needs from a core system for printing forms, to a highly sophisticated system requiring very little manual intervention. Comprised of four main components - Tax Calculation Engine, Forms Generator, Tracking and Reporting system and full Straight Through Processing (STP) Integration - the capabilities of GTRS guarantee efficiency and increased productivity, ensuring beneficial owners receive reclaims within the optimum timeframe.
Our Tax Calculation Engine comprises over 100 markets of investment, nearly 90 countries of residence and all of the client and security types recognised by the International Tax and Fiscal Authorities. This ultimately provides the user with over 1.4 million permutations which readily facilitates withholding tax recovery on the vast majority of cross-border income events.
The Forms Generator recognises which forms and accompanying documentation to print based on a series of pre-populated parameters, ensuring the appropriate form with the correct output is created every time. Electronic submissions are also fully supported for those markets that have moved to such automated technology.
Our Tracking and Reporting capability provides a vital component in effective portfolio management. The Global Tax Reclamation Service can produce reports and statistical data on all tax reclaims and their status, either through a suite of pre-defined reports or through user-defined reports which can be exported into Excel spreadsheets, csv files etc.
Straight Through Processing is achieved through an open systems architecture ensuring full integration to back office systems. Standard file importing is used to seamlessly integrate GTRS using definitive data mapping.
GTRS can also accommodate generation of cash entries when refunds are received, either by receipting within GTRS and generating cash entries across clients' mainframe, or by receipting in the mainframe and synchronising with GTRS. We also accommodate charges for fees and commissions for reclaim processing, whether on reclaim generation or reclaim receipt, and via a variety of different charging structures.
